A cabinet specimen boasting several sharp, deeply colored rhodochrosite scalenohedrons to 1.9 cm in length. Along with the rhodos are many small, colorless fluorites lying flat against a matrix coated with contrasting manganese oxides.
These started coming out of Peru in the 80"s, but over the past couple years fewer and fewer have been found. This was among the best in the possession of one of the Peruvian dealers at this year"s Tucson show.
