A great Japanese law twin from Peru. There is no damage to the main twin. There is a prismatic quartz crystal rising upwards from behind the main twin that gives the piece a unique appearance.
When I select specimens of this material, I obviously look for a lack of damage, but also for a well exposed twin. This is especially necessary because the matrix is the same color and mineral as the focus of the specimen (the twin). On this piece, the twin stands out perfectly.
This site was worked from 1999 to 2004, but as is often the case with Peruvian mines, local artisanal miners often begin looking for specimens after a claim has been officially abandoned. This specimen comes from hose later diggings.
