A very fine specimen of this rare calcium molybdate from India. Despite the abundance of Indian minerals from the Deccan on the market, powellite has remained a rarity, and crystals of this size are particularly hard to come by.
The piece admittedly lacks a degree of contrast, with the powellite situated on a similarly colored stilbite matrix, but given the sharpness and size of the powellite crystal, it has no trouble standing out.
A beautiful and rare sample of this mineral, at what I think is a very good price for a piece of this quiality.
