Beautiful isolated copper crystals on a rock matrix (rather than the usual mass of copper) sporting a dark tenorite patina, with a matrix partially composed of nicely contrasting green epidote.
This is an old piece collected underground while the mine was operational--NOT on the dumps. The Ridge Mine operated between approximately 1850 and 1880, which gives some idea of this piece's age. A beautiful copper from one of the relatively harder to find Michigan copper localities.
