LT2101 Fluorite
Shangbao Mine, Leiyang Co., Hunan Prov,. China
12.5x 11.5x 6.5 cm
$3600

A large cubooctahedral fluorite crystal on a quartz matrix, displaying the stepped faces that fluorites from this locality are famous for.  Shangbao fluorites are probably some of the most sought after of the various Chinese fluorite "formats," this is a particularly sizable crystal nicely positioned on its matrix.

LT2102 Cavansite

LT2104 Diamond
West Africa
0.62x 048x 0.4 cm
$900

A very clear yellow diamond, weighing 0.9 ct from West Africa.  The first dimension is the longest point to point distance, the second two are sides.

LT2105 Ludlamite
Huanuni mine,Huanuni, Dalence Province, Oruro Department, Bolivia
4.4x 4.0x 2.7 cm
$1200

A sizable cluster of ludlamite crystals from the best of species find made at the end of 2019. Despite being one of the most prolific producers of this mineral, crystals from here rarely top 1 cm.  In fact, that's usually the case for most locations, be it the old Idaho pieces, or those from Santa Eualia, Brazil, or Trepca (those localities probably account for 98% of what's ever available). By comparison, this is quite large! Like most from the discovery, this one has had some sort of oil applied.

LT2105A Rhodonite
Chiurucu, Huallanca District, Bolognesi Prov., Ancash Dept., Peru
8.5x 6.8x 2.7 cm
$850

A rather large example of pink rhodonite from the Chiurucu Mine in Peru.  As far as I know, there were two major finds of this material at this locality: one around 1989-90, and a second around 2006-2007.  This piece comes from the 06-07 find.  Even when I used to go to Peru, larger examples like this were hard to find, and most were somewhat bruised.

LT2106 Apophyllite
Jalgaon, Maharashtra State, India
25.0x 16.0x 4.9 cm

A large cluster of  apophyllite crystals on matrix, from a find several years ago that produced these very distinctive, frosted green crystals.

LT2113A Fluorite
Denton Mine, Hardin Co., Illinois, United States
7.6x 5.8x 3.6 cm
$245

A nice example of fluorite from the Denton Mine in southern Illinois.  The photographs are taken under strong lighting, so (even though there is no backlighting) you can see the underlying yellow color quite clearly. In person the purple outer layer and yellow core mix together more and give it muddled purplish appearance.

LT2114 Dioptase
Reneville, Pool Dept., Republic of Congo
10.1x 6.1 x 5.8 cm
$650

A cabinet sized example of deep green dioptase on matrix.  The matrix has bits of massive cuprite and chrysocolla.

LT2115 Quartz var. Amethyst
Amatitlan, Guerrero, Mexico
9.8x 6.5x 6.6 cm
$345

A nice example of deep purple amethyst from recent finds in Mexico.  Sawn base, minor chips on side crystals-- still better than most from these recent discoveries, which seem to be producing larger clusters than the old finds, which were mostly concentrated around single crystals.

LT2116 Dioptase on Plancheite
Sanda, Mindouli Area, Pool Dept., Republic of Congo
7.1x 7.1x 4.3 cm
$685

A beautiful example of dioptase with nicely contrasting blue plancheite, from the Sanda area in the Republic of Congo.

$185

A nice example of amethyst from Bulgaria.

LT2121 Calcite
Fujian Prov., China
6.6x 5.2x 2.0 cm
$145

A nice example of calcite from a recent Chinese find. These are plate-like clusters of highly transparent hexagonal prisms, the individual crystals look a lot like the old Wuzhou crystals, only smaller and clustered together.  I've seen them labeled as being from he Xiayang Mine (where the fluorites have been coming from) but I'm not sure... so I'm just labeling them as "Fujian Province."

LT2122 Calcite
Fujian Prov., China
5.2x 4.0x 1.5 cm
$135

A nice example of calcite from a recent Chinese find. These are plate-like clusters of highly transparent hexagonal prisms, the individual crystals look a lot like the old Wuzhou crystals, only smaller and clustered together.  I've seen them labeled as being from he Xiayang Mine (where the fluorites have been coming from) but I'm not sure... so I'm just labeling them as "Fujian Province."
