A spectacular autunite specimen from China, of all places. The quality of these autunites seems to be improving, though good ones are few and far between. This one has a bright greenish yellow color that only becomes better if it is viewed in daylight, as these are highly fluorescent, even reacting to the UV in ordinary sunlight.
I really want to stress how significant these pieces are-- there has not been anything like this recovered since the 1960's, at the Daybreak Mine in Washington state, and compared to those, this piece has better color, while being probably 1/3 the price.
This has been stabilized (and I'm assuming most of you know already, but just in case: it is radioactive.)
I'm listing it for $1500, if no one buys it I'm just going to raise the price and keep it for longer, Autunites like this are not at all common.
